At Led by the Wild we are extremely fortunate to have such a wonderful site from which to run our groups but, while the natural environment is exceptional, there are additional facilities, equipment and staffing that needs funding. We are a ‘not for profit’ company so all moneys received are put straight back into the organisation to help us broaden the range of activities and experiences we can offer the local community. This page is dedicated to recognising those that have supported us financially.
The Wish List
First on our Wish List was to install an all weather car park at our site and we are delighted that we reached our target and now have the car park installed and operational. We are extremely grateful to Aldington and Bilsington Parish Council for their donation of £500 towards realising our goal and to Councillor Clair Bell who awarded us £800 from the Combined Members Grant. In addition to this £277 was raised through our Go Fund Me page and we would like to thank everyone who made a donation in response to this. We are truly humbled to have such fantastic support from the local community to continue to grow and develop Led by the Wild.
Help Received so far
We were most grateful to receive a grant from ‘Donations with a Difference’, and raise enough money from a ‘Go Fund Me’ page, to pay for the initial set up costs for our Tree Tots group. However we are now financing the ongoing cost of groups by volunteering our time and own resources in addition to the small contribution we ask from attendees.
The Community Garden Project
We would also like to thank Aldington and Bilsington Parish Council for the additional £500 they donated towards our Community Garden Project. Please keep an eye on the Website and our Facebook Page for updates about this project and how you can get involved.
Composting Toilet, flushed with success!
We are thrilled to announce that we have recieved a grant that will completely cover the costs of installing a composting toilet in the woods. We are really grateful to The Hornbeam Charitable Fund for providing the funding and Kent Community Foundation for supporting our application.
In August, thanks to a fantastic gathering of musicians who gave up an evening to play free of charge, we hosted a ticketed music event. The £450 profit will be put towards the building of a shelter to further allow a year round running of our educational groups and to help reinstate a wildlife pond. Thank you to members of the local community who bought tickets, drinks and made additional donations on the evening, you have made a great impact on our funds and future plans. A huge thank you too to all the musical acts who put on a wonderful show.
Conservation and Community Projects
We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have been awarded £9,700 from The National Lottery Community Fund. This funding will enable us to deliver our conservation plan and extend our volunteer garden, creating a haven for local wildlife. We will also be running a series of free conservation and nature-led learning days throughout 2020 for families and local community groups.
How you can help…
This is a project we believe in whole heartedly but we need help to grow and reach the members of the community that would most benefit from the opportunities we will provide. If you think you can help by volunteering your services, offering equipment, funding or sponsorship please get in touch via our contact us page.
Every pound will help bring the wonder of nature into someone’s life and show the positive impact that being ‘Led by the Wild’ can bring.
